This IRS office is located in the Galaxy Center in Waco, TX. The Galaxy Center got its name in 1981, when the Galaxy Oil Co. completely remodeled the long-vacant building into its new corporate offices, complete with an employee fitness center, indoor gardens, lounge areas for workers and luxurious terrazzo tile and furnishings to replace its cramped downtown headquarters. The Galaxy Center was sold in 1999 to the newly formed Hatton Road Building limited partnership. The center now houses an assortment of government affiliated and nonprofit corporations.
