The Building is on CitiPlace Drive, right off of Corporate Boulevard and College Drive. It is visible from the I-10/I-12 Interstate split. If you’re coming from College onto Corporate, Citiplace Centre should be the right, between Citiplace Dr. and Gates Circle. The IRS is located in the Brown and Root building, which once was the Hancock Bank building. Google maps often incorrectly shows the IRS office as being located on Balis Drive (near Perkins Road and College Drive) but this location is not correct.

Parking is available in the CitiPlace parking lot.

If you require face-to-face service at the Alexandria, Alexandria/remote taxpayer assistance at New Horizon, Baton Rouge, Lafayette/remote taxpayer assistance at SMILE Community Action Agency or Monroe TAC office, call 1-844-545-5640 to schedule an appointment.

    • Yes it is.

“On Monday, June 29, 2020, the IRS began opening its Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) to the public in phases. To ensure the safety of the public and employees, people seeking in-person assistance at a TAC will need to call 844-545-5640 to make an appointment. Appointments will be available if people need assistance for authentication of identity and document validation related to tax return filing or application for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number; Sailing Clearances required for foreign travel by resident and non-resident aliens leaving the United States; assistance with Economic Impact Payment Issues; and cash payments.”

  1. The number listed as contact info for the Baton Rouge office is actually the number to Alexandria office. However, live assistance is not available. Go to and you will be directed in a Neverending circle. I’ve been in it for a year now!
