The Internal Revenue Service office at Buffalo and Department of Veteran Affairs share the same building as major tenants. The Elmwood Avenue connects to the Niagara Street which eventually leads to Niagara Square – all within walking distance of the IRS Office.

Directions

East on Interstate 190: Head west and take exit 8 for NY-266. Continue onto NY-266 and turn right onto Niagara Street. Take the right lane to turn onto South Elmwood Avenue. The destination will be on the left.

West: Canada – United States border is on the west. However, a visitor needs to take the exit 8 from Interstate 190 to reach South Elmwood Avenue.

North on Interstate 190: Head southeast and take exit 8 for NY-266. Continue onto NY-2665 and turn right onto Niagara Street. Use the right lane to turn left onto South Elmwood Avenue.

South on Buffalo Skyway: Head north toward Church Street and continue onto Delaware Avenue. Take the 5th exit on the traffic circle that comes ahead, then continue onto Niagara Street. Turn right onto South Elmwood Avenue.

Monday through Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, follows the federal holiday schedule.

How to make an appointment

If you require face-to-face service at the Buffalo IRS office, you must call 844-545-5640 to schedule an appointment.

Once you make an appointment, you will receive an automated email confirming the day and time of your appointment.

Parking

General visitors need to park their vehicles on the metered parking streets nearby. A lot of commercial parking lots are available within walking distance, Pay2Park, City Hall Parking etc. are to name a few.

All public visitors need to walk through electronic security equipment. Security personnel at the entrance would ask for government issued photo IDs to verify identity and validate appointment.
