The IRS Office at Columbus is located close to the MS-12/US-82 highway. The office building is a one-story cottage style house.

Directions

East on MS-12: Head west on US-82 W. Take the 18th avenue and turn right onto N 18th Avenue. Then, turn right onto N 5th Street. The IRS Office will be on the left on this road.

West on Lincoln Road: Head east on Lincoln Road toward Commercial Park Road. Upon arrival at the N 5th Street, turn left onto the N 5th Street. The IRS Office will be on the left.

North on US-45: Head south on US-45 toward Marguerite Drive. Upon arrival, turn left onto N 31st Avenue. Continue onto N 5th Street, the IRS Office will be on the right.

South on N 5th Street: Head north on MS-50 W/MS-69 N/N 5th Street toward 6th Street North. Continue to follow the MS-50W/MS-69N. Then turn right to merge onto US-82 E toward Tuscaloosa. Take the 18th Avenue exit, then turn left onto N 18th Avenue. After a quarter mile, turn right onto N 5th Street. The IRS Office will be on the left.

Hours

Monday through Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. This office follows the federal holiday schedule.

IRS Office Columbus Virtual Assistance – By Appointment Only

The Internal Revenue Service offers Virtual Assistance facility for the residents of Columbus, aside from the regular brick and mortar office. A taxpayer might receive assistance provided by an employee in a remote office using a computer monitor. The experience is almost similar to talking face to face, except the employee is sitting in a different location. Upon confirmed appointment, a taxpayer would be assigned a workstation at a specific time slot. The taxpayer simply sits at the designated workspace and speak with the employee appearing on screen.
