  1. My experience was somewhat frustrating. I worked on this issue from April 16th (2022) and finally got resolution on 6/17/2022. Rec’vd a 5071c letter; I had an ID theft issue for one of my children. ID verify would not work because child is under 18. He never had employment where a 1040 filing was necessary. Using my IDVerify account I tried to resolve but the IDverify agent would not allow me to resolve on my child’s behalf because the IDVerify account was under my ID and not my child’s. Called the 800# listed on the letter, went through the prompts and ended up expecting an agent but system hung up “I’m sorry due to the call volume…, etc.). I did this dozens of times over the next few days. Albeit it was tax season, so I decided to hold off until there was some time/space from tax time. During that time I also tried to make an appointment at a local IRS office but they were not accepting appointments. Fast-forward to June – I called all the numbers again, still “Due to call volume” message but this time I tried the appointment scheduling line and waited about 30 minutes and an agent came online. She listened to my story (I tried to keep it brief). I told her she was the second person I spoke with. Because she listened she determined all I needed to do is to talk to their verifications line since my sone never had to file a 1040. I waited for the transfer (another 15 min) and a gentleman came online and quickly ran through things for verification and resolved the issue. It is frustrating but a small prayer, patient persistence and it was resolved.

  2. Stopped by the other day to retrieve forms and instructions. Office locked up tighter than a federal correction center (prison). What is up? Some folks have no access to tax information and need an office to retrieve the needed forms. What is the fix? As a federal facility, your building ultimately belongs to the people and you have us lockout. You may blame COVID, but you also say we are bigger than that. Again, what is the fix? I am referring to the Horsham, Pa. office facility. Another federal incompetence is a Post Office on York Road. Broken outdoor mailbox for weeks on end coupled with the lack of an American Flag missing off the post. I am requesting feedback with resolutions.
