The parking information of the Manchester, NH IRS office IS NOT ACCURATE. There may be parking on the premises, but it is FOR WORKERS IN THE BUILDING, NOT VISITORS. Which, in retrospect, is reasonable due to the building being a Federal Building.
There is street parking all over the place so if you see a spot, take it. You pay at little, brown kiosks about 4 feet high. You can pay with a credit card or quarters or some app listed on the kiosk. $1 for an hour, $2 for two hours or whatever for 10 hours. Those are the three buttons you can choose from.
The IRS office is easy to get to from 293 BUT Chestnut Street is ONE WAY north to south at the opening of the building. And yes, there is security to get in. Think airport or a courthouse, empty your pockets, walk through the scanner.
The two IRS employees were pleasant and courteous. My issue which started in November 2024 which I spent 14 hours on including 3 hours on the phone with two different agents who both saw the IRS’s mistake, but I got cut off and they are not allowed to call back. The second one saw the problem but wasn’t authorized to handle it, some would have to call . . . No one ever did. At the office it was done in under 30 minutes. The 1:15 drive each way was worth it.
