IRS Office Minneapolis – 250 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401 

Minneapolis IRS Office is located in Marquette Plaza, a 15-story high rise office building complex with 522,656 square feet of total space. This building occupies an entire city block and the striking glass-covered outlook and modern architectural design is visible form quite a distance. The building is located between Marquette Avenue and Nicollet Mall, and Washington Avenue and 3rd Street South – a prime location in the city. Marquette Plaza is designed by Gunnar Birkerts and it served as the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis between 1973 and 1997, later the building was remodeled in 2002 to eliminate some issues with the original build. Social Security Administration and IRS are two prominent federal tenants on this building. Some nearby locations are – ECMC, Crossings Condominiums, Wells Fargo Operations Center, Walden University, Minneapolis Central Library, and Minneapolis Passport Agency etc.

Directions

East on Washington Avenue: Head northwest on S Washington Avenue toward 11th Avenue South. Turn left onto S 4th Avenue then after a short while turn right at the 1st cross street onto S 3rd Street. Finally, turn right onto S Marquette Avenue. The Marquette Plaza building will be on the left.

West on Interstate 394: Head east on I-394 East. Exit through the 4th Street N exit by taking any of the available lanes. Continue onto N 4th Street and after a while, turn left onto S Marquette Avenue. The Marquette Plaza building will be on the left.

North on Interstate 94: Head south on I-94E. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 230 for 4th Street North. At the fork keep right and follow signs for 2nd Avenue North. Continue onto N 4th Street, then turn left onto S Marquette Avenue. The Marquette Plaza building will be on the left.

South on Interstate 35: Head north on Interstate 35 and continue onto MN-65 highway, then stay on MN-65. Continue onto 5th Avenue S. Turn left onto S 3rd Street and continue for slightly more than a quarter mile. Finally, turn right onto S Marquette Avenue; the Marquette Plaza building will be on the left.

Hours

Monday through Friday 9 am to 4.30 pm, with a one hour lunch break from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm. This office follows the federal holiday schedule.
