The IRS Office at Parkersburg is situated in a built that was built in 1903, with a total of 60,900 RSF floor space in its 7 floors. It is a B class office building and Union Trust & Deposit Co. is one of the major tenants at this location. Apart from IRS, the Social Security Administration is another prominent federal office located in this building occupying 9,125 square feet floor space. They have moved in lately, by the end of 2017 and the lease amount awarded is $7.11 million. The building is located in the 7th street corner, at the cross-section of Market Street and it a very prominent location for offices with such importance. Other business locations nearby are Actors Guild of Parkersburg, YMCA, United Bank, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Leavitt Funeral Services and Crematory, Parkersburg Art Center, First Baptist Church, and Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council.


East on Old US 50 W: Head west on 7th Street/Old US 50 West toward Mary Street. Upon arrival at the Market Street cross-street, turn left onto Market Street. The IRS Office will be on the left.

Southwest on WV-68: Head northeast on WV-68N toward 3rd Street. Take a right turn onto 7th Street/Old US 50 East and continue for a quarter mile. Then, turn left at the 2nd cross-street onto Avery Street. Upon arrival, turn left at the first cross-street onto 8th Street/Old US 50 West. After a while, turn left onto Market Street. The IRS Office will be on the left.

Northwest on 4th Street: Head southeast on 4th Street toward Juliana Street. Upon arrival, turn left onto Avery Street and then continue straight on this road. The 8th Street/Old US 50 W should be on the left after a while, turn left onto this road. After a while, take a left turn again onto Market Street. The IRS Office building will be on the left.

Southeast on 5th Street: Head northwest on 5th Street toward gale Avenue, then turn right onto Green Street. Turn left onto 8th Street/Old US 50 West, drive for a while, then turn left onto Market Street. After a while the IRS Office will be on the left on this road.


Monday through Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. This office follows the federal holiday schedule.

This place does not have a public parking space. However, visitors may use the public lot around the Actors Guild corner. Street parking is available around the building. Commercial parking lots and garages are available within walking distance.

  1. I earned about $11,000 minus mileage expense, etc, and received a 1099. I always get assistance from AARP in filing but they have stopped assistance for now and I don’t know when they will resume. I have not paid any taxes this year; I had planned to pay quarterly but kept forgetting. Would it be helpful for me to pay $1000 now straight to IRS before I file in case I file after the deadline ?
