IRS Office Rapid City – 515 Ninth Street, Rapid City, SD 57701

The IRS Office at Rapid City is located very close to the Omaha Street. The location is precisely in between Main Street and St. Joseph Street, and West Boulevard and 9th Street. Significant locations like Rapid Creek, Berlin Wall, Memorial Park, and South Dakota School of Mines & Technology etc. are only a maximum of 10 minutes driving distance away. Some of the neighboring locations are Wells Fargo Bank, YMCA of Rapid City, Murphy’s Pub and Grill, The Rushmore Motel, Halley park, Computer Village – Apple Specialist, Ernie November’s etc. This downtown location is mostly populated with mid to large business and firms, also some federal and non-federal offices here and there. The building is known as Andrew W. Bogue Federal Building.


East on Omaha Street: Head west on Omaha Street toward 5th Street. Upon arrival, take a left turn onto Mount Rushmore Road using the left 2 lanes. Then, take a right turn onto the Main Street. After a while, take a left turn onto 9th Street. The IRS Office will be on the right.

West on W Main Street: Head east on W Main Street toward West Street. Continue driving onto St Joseph Street and after a quarter mile or so, take a left turn onto 9th Street. The IRS Office will be on the left.

North on W Omaha Street: Head south on I-190 South toward Omaha Street. Use the 2nd from left lane to take a left turn at the 1st cross-street onto SD-44 E/Omaha Street. After a quarter mile, take a right turn at the 1st cross-street onto Mount Rushmore Road. Another quarter mile later, take a right turn onto Main Street. Finally, take another right turn onto Main Street. Drive for around 500 feet, then turn left onto 9th Street. The IRS Office will be on the right.

South on Mount Rushmore Road: Head north on Mount Rushmore Road toward Quincy Street. At the cross-street that intersects Mount Rushmore Road with Main Street, take a left turn onto Main Street. Then, take a left turn again, onto the 9th Street. The IRS Office will be on the right.


Monday through Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm. This office follows the federal holiday schedule.

Like most other Federal Buildings, this one does not offer a guaranteed parking spot for the general visitors. However, street parking and commercial parking arrangements are just nearby, very much within walking distance.
