The IRS Office at Topeka is located between SE 4th Street and SE 6th Avenue, and SE Monroe Street and S Kansas Avenue. The office is located close to the US District Clerk’s office at Topeka, and the US-70 highway runs close-by. The office building is a glass-clad structure with a prominent presence, and plenty of open spaces all around. Some of the important locations nearby are Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, Department for Children and Families, City of Topeka, Jayhawk Theatre, Topeka Police Department, Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office etc. Being a busy downtown location, all other offices are located within a walking or short-haul driving distance.

East on SE 6th Avenue: Head west on 6th Avenue toward SE Lawrence Street. Keep eyes on the right, as that’s the side the IRS office will be.

West on SW 6th Avenue: Head east on SW 6th Avenue toward SW Washburn Avenue. The IRS Office will be on the left on this road.

North on NW Topeka Boulevard: Head south on NW Topeka Boulevard. Upon arrival at the 6th Avenue, turn right onto this road. After a while, the IRS Office will be on the left.

South on SE Adams Street: Head north on SE Adams Street toward SE 15th Street. Continue through the SE Branner Trafficway, then upon arrival turn left onto SE 6th Avenue. The IRS Office will be on the right.

IRS Office Topeka Virtual Assistance – By Appointment Only

The Virtual Assistance facility provided by Internal Revenue Service is almost as similar as the regular taxpayers’ assistance service, except this is digitally provided through a computer monitor. The experience is mostly similar to talking face to face but the other side, IRS employee, is sitting in a different location. A specific workstation would be designated for a taxpayer upon confirmed appointment. On the schedule slot, the taxpayer simply sits at the workstation and talk to the employee appearing on screen.
