How to make an appointment

If you require face-to-face service at the Charleston IRS office, you must call 844-545-5640 to schedule an appointment.

Once you make an appointment, you will receive an automated email confirming the day and time of your appointment.

  1. I have to show verification on who I am. Tried making appointment and can’t get thru. Called advocate for IRS several times. One time they could transfer me and talked to a lady with irs to verify over phone but had to get 2018 & 2019 tax return. I now have it but advocates say they can’t transfer again. I can’t get refund from last year or the stimulus. Help please

  2. I need help speaki g with someone about my economic impact payment because the second payment was sent to a bank account via direct deposit that I no longer have access to and I need to speak with someone to change the direct deposit numbers

    • There’s no way to change your direct deposit info for the 2nd stimulus payment. If you don’t get a deposit or check, you’ll have to get the payment when you file your 2020 return. The Economic Impact Payments are an advance payment of what will be called the Recovery Rebate Credit on the 2020 Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR.

      On your 2020 tax return, you will get a Recovery Rebate Credit for any portion of the stimulus payment #1 or #2 that you did not receive but should have received.

  3. I need to speak with someone to setup an appointment I never came in person to pick up my 2018 refund due to transportation and now its withholding my 2019 refund I need to speak with someone to get this taken care of! Thank u
