@Tax Help
I recently learned that my deceased parents had a levy and lien against their property that appears to be incorrect. I have gone on irs.gov and called the number for lien information and no one has responded. Please advise!
You can get a copy of the lien from the county clerk’s office and check which tax periods have liens. Then get IRS account transcripts for those tax periods to see if there is a balance owed. Also be sure to check whether the statute of limitations has expired.
@Tax Help (Just one more question please)
Is there a way to get the account transcripts for the tax periods (during the COVID-19 closures) – I’ve gone to the main IRS website and don’t appear to be entering the information correctly to get access. Are any areas providing phone support? (Taxpayer Advocate Service Maybe?)
@Tax Help
Also the tax years in question are 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Thank you!
I remarried new Address since I filed my 2018 taxes. What can I do to get my check for corona virus payment. The IRS has my new information and Medicare. I am so concerned that the government will send the check to my old name address.
Here’s more information about the stimulus checks.
Can you drop off FORM 8822 Change of Address at the Downers Grove, IL office and it be processed?
